Scholarships available to attend Multicultural Forum
The University of St. Thomas values diversity as a critical part of its mission. The president, in consultation with his senior staff, has made an ongoing commitment to promote diversity. As part of expanding institutional partnerships to increase diversity programming initiatives, the Office of Institutional Diversity – in cooperation with the executive vice president and chief academic officer and the executive vice president and chief administrative officer – is pleased to announce the Diversity Advantage Scholarship for full-time faculty and staff members.
The Diversity Advantage Scholarship was created to provide UST employees an opportunity to register and participate in the 18th annual Multicultural Forum, “The Diversity Advantage: Maximizing Performance by Investing in People,” Feb. 14-15 at RiverCentre in St. Paul.
The mission of the Multicultural Forum is to advance diversity in the workplace by enhancing awareness and understanding to bring about an inclusive workplace environment. The forum is hosted by the St. Thomas College of Business and the Twin Cities chapter of the National Black MBA Association.
Scholarships in the amount of $125 will be awarded based on applicants’ personal diversity philosophy, benefits of this professional development opportunity and their plans for sharing what they have learned. Application and registration forms can be downloaded from the Office of Institutional Diversity Web site beginning tomorrow, Jan. 18. Completed application and registration forms must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Office of Institutional Diversity, Room 104A, Aquinas Hall. These materials may be mailed to the office at Mail #AQU104.
Diversity Advantage Scholarship recipients will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 7. Scholarships may be used only toward registration at the forum to attend one of the following:
- One professional development institute on Feb. 14 or
- The entire day of concurrent workshops Feb. 15
