A new Virtual Private Network (VPN) for faculty and staff to connect remotely to an on-campus UST computer is now online, Information Resources and Technologies has announced. The VPN will replace current methods of Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) to connect to a UST asset. Current methods of RDC will be unavailable starting Monday, April 11.
According to IRT, the VPN provides an important layer of security while accessing resources on UST’s network. A VPN is a virtual tunnel that protects traffic accessing a remote computer, allowing for enhanced data privacy.
To switch over to the new VPN, fill out the request form on IRT’s website or contact the Tech Desk, (651) 962-6230.
