Seven openings to be filled soon on Undergraduate Student Government

Seven openings on the Undergraduate Student Government will be filled soon. One of the openings, for vice president for financial affairs, will be filled by appointment. The remaining six openings will be filled by an upcoming vote of members of the USG.

The openings originally were scheduled to be filled by a vote of the USG at its meeting this Sunday, Feb. 3. However, because some of these openings were recent and unexpected, the election was postponed and members of the USG will vote to fill the openings at the USG meeting on Sunday, Feb. 10.

The vice president for financial affairs appointment will take place soon. Candidates must apply by Friday, Feb. 1. Applications can be found outside the Leadership Room, Room 111, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, or online at www.stthomas.edu/usg . The appointment for this position will be made at the USG meeting Sunday, Feb. 3.

The remaining six openings are for vice president of administrative affairs, freshman class senator, junior class senator, senior class senator, neighborhood senator, and elections and credentials chair.

Applications for those positions also are available outside the Leadership Room in Murray-Herrick, or online at www.stthomas.edu/usg. The deadline for those applications is Friday, Feb. 8, but early applications are encouraged. The special election for the six positions will be held at the UGS meeting on Sunday, Feb. 10.
