Twin Cities Bike Walk Week is June 4 through 12. This year, for the first time, Wellness U, sponsored by the Human Resources Department, will organize a team of St. Thomas faculty and staff to participate.
Team events and incentives will be announced in May. Email Becky James for more information and to sign up for the team.
Bike Walk Week activities are meant to highlight the advantages of getting around without the use of a car. Registered participants pledge to make at least one trip, by bike or foot, they typically would have made via car.
Thursday, June 9, is the official Bike Walk to Work Day, and Wellness U invites all staff and faculty to commit to biking or walking to work that day.
Don’t own a bike? Rent one from Nice Ride or the St. Thomas Wellness Center.
Have a bike but it needs a tuneup? In celebration of Earth Week, April 25 through 30, BEAST (Bicycle Enthusiasts at St. Thomas) members will perform free bike tuneups from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, on the quad.
