Six two-day orientation programs scheduled in July

Approximately 1,300 students, and 1,700 parents and guardians, are expected to visit the St. Thomas community during Summer Orientation and Registration. The Dean of Students Office and Academic Counseling staff members are busy planning two days of orientation for new students and their families.

Dates for this year’s orientation sessions are:

  • July 9-10
  • July 12-13
  • July 16-17
  • July 20-21
  • July 23-24
  • July 25-26

A few of our changes for this year include a new online reservation request system, electronic math and language placement tests (with math tests being completed online prior to O&R), concentrated pre-registration for some science and math combinations, and, perhaps most important, a significant shortening of the first day. The full schedule is available online here.

One of the highlights of the Orientation and Registration program is the student life issues skits performed by our student orientation leaders. Performances are at 7 p.m. on the first night of each orientation session in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium, and members of the St. Thomas community are welcome to come enjoy the evening.
