Spice up your summer at Neighborfest July 27

St. Thomas will host its annual community celebration and volunteer appreciation picnic, Neighborfest, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in Foley Plaza.

Neighborfest, which first was held in 1981, has attracted hundreds of St. Thomas neighbors and visitors to campus. The UST community and neighbors, their families and friends are welcome.

This year's fest has a "South of the Border" theme, with free churros and nonalcoholic margaritas and strawberry daquiri slushes on the menu, along with typical fest fare: ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy and lemonade. Available for purchase will be tacos, tamales, hotdogs and hamburgers.

Live music, and free pony rides and a sports clinic for kids round out the fun.

In the event of rain, the event moves indoors to nearby Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
