Mandatory Health Insurance
Murphy Online is open for completing student health insurance verification for spring semester. As a reminder, the University of St. Thomas requires all undergraduate degree-seeking students taking 12 or more credits and all graduate and professional students taking 9 or more credits to demonstrate health insurance coverage. If you have the same insurance as fall term, it will only take a minute to complete.
Students who are not covered by other policies have the option of purchasing the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. The coverage is from Jan. 15 through Aug. 14, 2010; the premium is $429 for spring semester. Review the insurance coverage details on the Student Health Service Web site to determine if this plan meets your needs.
For more information regarding the health insurance verification process or the Aetna Student Health Plan contact the UST Student Health Insurance Office, (651) 962-6752.
Note: Students who do not enter their existing health insurance information or purchase the Aetna Plan before Feb. 16, 2010, will be enrolled automatically and billed for the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. Reminders will be sent to students via their UST e-mail to complete this process.
All records and conversations with Student Health Service staff are strictly confidential. Information will be released only with the student's written permission in accordance with the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
The Student Health Service clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, visit the Student Health Service Web site or call (651) 962-6750.
