Student Health Service lists recent changes

Student Health Service (SHS) has made several changes recently to better support and care for students attending the University of St. Thomas. SHS received certification from the Center for Disease Control as a Travel Clinic, additional exam rooms have been added and new health care providers have joined the team.

The providers include: nurse practitioners, a registered nurse, family practice physicians, an internal medicine physician, a psychiatrist, sports medicine physicians and support personnel.

This fall, SHS also began submitting directly to health insurance companies for the services provided to students in the clinic. Any remaining balance not covered by the health insurance company will be placed on the student's UST account.

Students who come to the clinic without their insurance information or who do not have health insurance coverage still will be seen. Appointments are encouraged; however, walk-in patients will be seen on a first-available-opening basis.

Questions regarding this process can be directed to the Student Health Insurance Office, (651) 962-6752.
