Students of all majors needed for paid summer teaching internships

LearningWorks at Blake is looking for a talented college students to teach in an innovative academic summer program for high achieving and high potential, but traditionally underserved Minneapolis public, middle-school students. LearningWorks provides paid summer teaching internships complete with training and classroom teaching experience. No prior teaching experience is necessary and all majors and interests are welcome to apply. Eligible applicants must be either currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or be a high school junior or senior. Applications must be received by March 6, 2006.

LearningWorks offers:

  • A stipend of $2,500 for full-time work from June 12 to Aug. 11.
  • Home stays.
  • An opportunity to teach academic courses of your own creation and design.
  • Training and experience in lesson planning, classroom management and student-centered teaching.

An on-campus information session will be held from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Room 155, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
