Students who plan to study abroad in Spain are urged to apply early
Getting a student visa for Spain is a lengthy process, including the need to go to Chicago at least once. So please apply before the deadline on Oct. 15.

Keri Kohut Scholarship available
Funded in memory of St. Thomas alumna Keri Kohut, this scholarship will provide funding to study abroad for undergraduate students with majors in justice and peace studies, psychology, or social work. Kohut was a 1993 graduate who majored in psychology with minors in justice and peace studies and theology. The deadline is Nov. 1 for spring study.

Need a passport? Apply for one on campus Sept. 28 and Oct. 19
Apply for a passport from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 28 and Oct. 19, in Campus Square next to Scooter's, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. For specific information on the necessary documents and fees to bring, see the Study Abroad Web site, or call (651) 962-6450.
New passport requirement
A new requirement issued by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires travelers to have a passport for travel to and from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda starting Jan. 8, 2007, for air and sea travel.
