Take a break and play European handball Friday
You can have the rare opportunity to play European handball from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in Coughlan Field House. Everybody is welcome to play – just for fun. An original handball will be provided – as well as some German candies.
This sport is almost unknown in the United States, but European handball (or team handball) is popular all over the world. Imagine taking the fast pace of basketball and the team play of soccer, put it on a court measuring 20-by-40 meters, add two goals about half the size of soccer goals, and a goal zone like the three-point circle that is off limits to everyone but the goalie, and you can imagine team handball.
