Theater open house tomorrow

An open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in Foley Theater for all students interested in theater participation. Faculty and staff will be on hand to answer your questions. Pizza and pop will be served, too.

Here's what's in store this season – and how you can audition for this fall's productions. Students of all majors enjoy cast and crew roles.

  • "Top Girls," Caryl Churchill's 1982 play about women in power, Oct. 15-18 in Frey Theater at the College of St. Catherine, 2004 Randolph Ave., St. Paul. Auditions for an all-female cast will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in Foley Theater at St. Thomas, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Frey Theater at St. Catherine. Be ready to read from a script provided at the audition. Questions? Contact Dr. Amy Kritzer, (651) 962-5883.
  • "Godspell," the 1970 rock musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak about the power of faith, Nov. 19-23 in Foley Theater. A large cast offers more than 20 roles. Auditions will be held at 6:30 pm. Monday, Sept. 8, in Frey Theater at St. Catherine and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Foley Theater at St. Thomas. To audition, come with a prepared song from musical theater and be dressed to move. Questions? Contact Jo Ann Holonbek, (651) 690-6681.

Spring-semester shows both will be held on the St. Catherine campus: "Macbeth," March 12-14, 2009, at The O'Shaughnessy, and "The Clean House," April 29-May 2 in Frey Theater. Watch Bulletin Today for audition notices.
