Tommie Award nominations open tomorrow

The Tommie Award is presented annually to a University of St. Thomas senior. All students, faculty and staff are invited to nominate seniors who best represent the ideals of St. Thomas Aquinas through their scholarship, leadership and campus involvement. The award provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding contributions by students.

The nomination process will begin Thursday, Oct. 22, and the Tommie Award will be presented in March 2010. Nominees must have academic status as a senior, graduate no later than December 2010, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75.

Please note that all nomination materials will be available beginning Oct. 22, on the Tommie Award Web site. Students are welcome to nominate themselves.

Completed nomination materials can be returned to the Office of Campus Life in Room 110, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, or the Dean of Students Office in Room 101, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, or sent through campus mail to Mail #4024. All nominations must be received by 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16. Late entries will not be accepted.

After the initial nomination process, preliminary online voting will be held Dec. 7, 8 and 9. Three finalists will be selected from this preliminary voting. Final voting will take place in February 2010. The Tommie Award will be presented on St. Thomas Day in March 2010.

The Tommie Award is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs.
