Tommies Edge Johnnies in Overtime, 27-26

With an MIAC record football crowd of 16,421 watching, the University of St. Thomas football team edged St. John's University, 27-26, in overtime Saturday in Collegeville.

With the victory in hand, the Tommies spoiled the Johnnies' homecoming and snapped a 12-game losing streak against their archrival. The victory was sealed when St. John's missed a point-after-try in overtime.

The win gives Coach Glenn Caruso's Tommies a 5-0 record, 3-0 in the MIAC. St. John's drops to 3-2 overall, 2-1 in the MIAC.
