The awards will be presented at a program that starts at 5 p.m. tomorrow, April 23, at the seminary’s St. Mary’s Chapel.
Fleming’s brother, Francis, received the seminary’s first Distinguished Alumni Award in 1996. The award recognizes alumni and friends of the seminary who have dedicated their lives to service in the church.
Father Martin Fleming served for 25 years as a military chaplain and was a parish priest at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, St. Pius X in White Bear Lake and St. Mary in Shakopee, where he also was chaplain of the women’s prison.
DeMarais has been involved in evangelization efforts for the past 25 years and developed outreach programs on college campuses, which led to the founding of St. Paul’s Outreach.
