UAWE Seeks Coordinating Council Nominations

The University Advocates for Women and Equity is accepting nominations for members of its coordinating council.

The coordinating council solicits input from the St. Thomas community on issues of concern to women and decides on the best strategy for addressing those issues. The coordinating council also sponsors several ongoing initiatives, including the annual presentation of the Sister Pat Kowalski Women’s Leadership Award and several other awards, and a reception for new female employees of the university.

Coordinating council members serve a three-year term (or for student members, until graduation), and are expected to attend regular coordinating council meetings as well as UAWE sponsored events.

The UAWE is open to all members of the university community who support its mission of support and advocacy for women. Individuals who are interested in serving on the coordinating council should send their name, department or major, and a few sentences explaining why they are interested in serving on the council to the UAWE (uawe@stthomas.edu), no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28. Electronic voting will be held in October.
