UST-CSC School of Social Work again ranked among U.S. News & World Report's best social work programs

The School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine is ranked No. 53 in the United States by U.S. News & World Report magazine.

The ranking, identical to a year ago, is included in the magazine's 2010 guide to "America's Best Graduate Schools." Highlights of the rankings will be published in the May issue of the magazine, which will be available on newsstands on Tuesday, as will the guide.

The magazine surveyed 177 social work programs that offer master's degrees and are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

U.S. News again ranked the St. Thomas School of Law in the third tier among 184 accredited law schools in the country. The schools in third tier are listed alphabetically by the magazine and rank between 103rd and 139th places.

The School of Education in the College of Applied Professional Studies is listed in the U.S. News survey of 278 graduate schools that offer doctoral degrees, but is not ranked in the top 127 such programs.

The School of Engineering and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences are not ranked because the survey included only doctorate programs. The Graduate School of Professional Psychology does not appear to have been included in the magazine's survey.
