  • "Apple Valley: Funeral plans replace baby shower invitations," St. Paul Pioneer Press, Nov. 5, 2002. Sad news: Katie Amelse Burg, a 1997 St. Thomas alumna, died Friday, Nov. 1, after an Oct. 26 car accident; her husband, Russ Burg, was still in critical condition Tuesday, and their baby boy was delivered last week more than two months prematurely. Katie was a sixth-grade teacher at Edward Neill Elementary School in Burnsville.
