UST students participate in American Model United Nations conference

The Model United Nations group of the Foreign Affairs Club participated in the American Model United Nations conference Nov. 18-21 in Chicago. The students represented the delegation of Belarus.

Participants included: Michael Bykow, Matthew Eldred, Nafisa Elmi, Andrew Engen, Margaret Henehan, Rachel Hoffman, Nicole Jackson, Caitlin Kirkman, Alexander Miamen, Kiersten Norby, and Anna Zearley.

The conference was attended by over 1,300 participants from more than 75 schools, including several international delegations. Miamen, who served as a justice in the International Court of Justice simulation, was awarded the Outstanding Delegation Award.

The Model United Nations group is beginning preparations for upcoming spring conferences, including the National Model United Nations in March in New York and the regional Arrowhead Model United Nations in April.

Meetings are held at noon Tuesdays in Room 481, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts.
