Workshop on 'Effective Networking for Success in Business' is Jan. 20
Most professionals know they should network, but for a variety of reasons many do not engage effectively in making connections.
A workshop on "Effective Networking for Success in Business" will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Room 350, Terrence Murphy Hall. The self-proclaimed "queen of networking," Sue Moyer, manager of career services for part-time students and alumni, will share her insights into the art of making personal connections.
Sue Moyer
From her years of career coaching, Moyer knows that not everyone is comfortable meeting new people. What she also has observed is that many people use networking only as an emergency job-search tactic and not as a lifelong career strategy.
In this workshop, Moyer will share tips to help you overcome anxieties and get organized. She also will address how to effectively network to enhance your career. Whether you are employed or in a job search, you'll walk away with some fundamental concepts that may change your perspective on networking. This presentation is designed for entry-level to intermediate-level networkers.
This event is offered free of charge for College of Business graduate students and alumni by the UST Graduate Business Career Services (GBCS), but pre-registration is required.
Please e-mail your name and daytime phone number to GBCS at least three days in advance of the event. If you have questions, call the office, (651) 962-8807.
