You may qualify to teach English in Japan
The Japan Exchange in Teaching Program provides an opportunity for students attending a Minnesota college or university to teach English as a foreign language to students in Japan.
All interested students, faculty and staff are invited to an information session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Room 206, O'Shaughnessy Educational Center.
Amanda Brown, a former JET participant (Sanda-shi, Hyogo-ken, 2005-07), lives in Minneapolis and works with the Japanese Consulate General's Office in Chicago to promote the JET Program. At this information session, Brown will speak about her experiences and what the program entails. Her talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The application deadline for the 2009 program is Tuesday, Nov. 25. You also may apply for a future program.
For more information, visit the JET Web site or e-mail Michiko K. Dressen, Japanese language instructor in the Modern and Classical Languages Department.
