With just three years of experience, the University of St. Thomas' Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team became a regional competition champion Monday through its eight community outreach projects, which have impacted more than 6,000 people and two businesses.
SIFE teaches students how to use business principles to create a positive impact in the community and the world. Throughout the year the team worked on projects to meet six criteria: market economics, success skills, financial literacy, business ethics, environmental sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
More information about SIFE's award is available on the Opus College of Business Web site.
