Annual golf tournament benefits St. Paul Seminary in a big way

More than $110,000 was raised for the St. Paul Seminary at 25th annual golf tournament June 9 at the Town & Country Club.

Monsignor Aloysius Callaghan, rector and vice president of the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity of the University of St. Thomas, hosted the afternoon tournament, which was followed by a social hour, dinner and auction.

Seminary graduate Father John Floeder, a 2003 St. Thomas alumnus who was ordained last year for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, gave a keynote address at dinner, and Archbishop John Nienstedt was a special guest.

Among the 120 golfers were (left to right above): Dr. Mark Dienhart, executive vice president and chief administrative officer; university trustee Father John Malone; Monsignor Aloysius Callaghan, the seminary's rector; Steve Fritz, director of intercollegiate athletics; Mark Vangsgard, vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer; and seminarian Jonathan Kelly.
