Association for Strategic Planning offers 'Balanced Scorecard' session
Dr. Thomas Walkington, president of New Strategic Directions, will lead a discussion from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, in McNeely Hall.
Walkington will speak on "Best Practices Implementing Balanced Scorecard." Learn how to effectively manage change at this highly interactive, two-hour event. Karen Harrington of Dakota County will co-present the seminar.
The Balanced Scorecard is an effective change-management framework that aligns public and nonprofit organizations to achieve the desired results. It provides a method for identifying the most important things the organization needs to do to improve its effectiveness.
Walkington was most recently principle planning analyst for Hennepin County. He also is an adjunct professor at the Hamline School of Business and the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. He has more than 30 year's leadership and management experience in public, nonprofit and post-secondary education.
