I spent the past week representing the Full-time UST MBA program at World MBA Tour events in three cities in China—Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. All of the recruiting fairs were well attended, and I had the opportunity to speak with several very qualified candidates. China accounts for the largest international student population in the UST MBA program, and several of our current Chinese students volunteered to contact the prospective students I met in China last week. They have already exchanged e-mails and chatted online with the students I met! It’s great to see our students get so involved in the student recruitment process, especially during this very busy time of year.
While my schedule kept me busy in China, I did have the opportunity to do a few hours of sightseeing in Shanghai and Beijing. If you have not had the chance to visit China, it is amazing to see the mix of modern and historic there. Shanghai has impressive new architecture all over, and I got to ride the world’s only maglev passenger train from the airport into the city. I also had the opportunity to see the snow-covered Forbidden City while I was in Beijing, and I was so impressed by the changes I noticed there since my last visit, prior to the Beijing Olympics.
