The monthly book club of the Luann Dummer Center for Women invites the campus community to discuss The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy, on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The group will meet from noon to 1 p.m, in the women's center, Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

The novel is set in Kerala, India, during the late 1960s when communism is threatening the age-old caste system. Beneath the drama of a family tragedy lies a background of local politics, social taboos and the tide of history.

You don’t need to have finished the book (or even have started it) to attend; bring a lunch or beverage and enjoy a lively conversation.
