Change in mandatory student health insurance verification process

Students who become seriously ill or injured may have their lives and academic goals adversely impacted. Providing St. Thomas students with affordable access to medical care and health care insurance are among our priorities.

The University of St. Thomas requires all undergraduate degree-seeking students taking 12 or more credits and all graduate/professional students taking nine or more credits to demonstrate health insurance coverage. Students who are not covered by other policies have the option of purchasing the UST sponsored health insurance policy. The insurance premiums for 2008-09 are $445/semester. To determine if this plan meets your needs, you may review the insurance coverage details by clicking on the link for the 2008-09 plan brochure on the Student Health Service Web site (right column: UST Insurance Option).

If you do not enter your existing health insurance information or purchase the UST-sponsored health insurance plan before Wednesday, Sept. 17, you automatically will be enrolled and billed for the UST-sponsored plan. This health insurance verification process will take place each semester as health insurance coverage frequently changes. You will be notified every semester by UST e-mail to verify coverage.

Please enter your current health insurance information or purchase the UST sponsored insurance via Murphy Online.  If you have questions regarding the UST-sponsored plan or would like information on enrolling dependents, contact the UST Student Health Insurance Office, (651) 962-6752.
