Club lacrosse team goes 21-0 en route to conference championship; nationals next

The defending national champion St. Thomas club lacrosse team captured the 2010 Upper Midwest Lacrosse League conference title Sunday, May 2, by defeating archrival St. John’s University, 10-6, at Concordia University in St. Paul.

A crowd estimated between 800 and 1,000 witnessed two firsts for the Tommies: the first sweep of the Johnnies and the first undefeated regular season for the Tommies. St. Thomas is ranked No. 1 in the nation and St. John's is ranked No. 7.

Next for the Tommies is the national tournament, May 11-15, in Denver Colo. The semifinal games will be streamed live on the Internet, and the championship game will be shown live on national television by FCS (Fox College Sports).
