Academic Review Committee for International Education announces modifications to short-term, off-campus programs review process
The Academic Review Committee for International Education (ARCIE ) was established at the request of the faculty in 2000 “to review and decide upon approval for all UMAIE courses, all St. Thomas-administered and St. Thomas-faculty directed international courses and programs, as well as other courses and programs administered by International Education.”
ARCIE has modified its review process for St. Thomas-sponsored, short-term, off-campus programs in order to make the process more efficient for faculty and to provide more opportunity for long-term planning by faculty, departments and colleges/schools. These changes were reviewed and approved by the deans of the schools and colleges and by the executive vice president for academic affairs in July.
Modifications to the short-term, off-campus programs review process include:
- New proposal deadlines for St. Thomas-sponsored, short-term programs. Proposals will be due to the dean of the college/school on:
- Nov. 21, 2005, for fall/January Term 2007
- April 24, 2006, for spring/summer 2007
