Green Team invites UST community to join annual fall cleanup of river's east bank

The St. Thomas Green Team invites the UST community to join its annual fall cleanup of the east bank of the Mississippi River.

The cleanup will take place, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. The University of St. Thomas, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, takes responsibility for cleaning the east river bank from the Marshall-Lake Street bridge to the Ford Parkway bridge.

All ages are invited to meet at the World War I monument at the intersection of Summit Avenue and East Mississippi River Boulevard for a great family outing, an intentional act of kindness, a community service project, or just for the enjoyment of beauty and being outdoors. Bring gloves, rakes, good shoes and enthusiasm. Bags, gloves, coffee and some food treats will be provided.

Questions about the event may be e-mailed to Green Team presidents Abby Gaul or Bernadette Seefeld.

The event is sponsored by the UST Green Team, Physical Plant, Recycling Team, and the Minnesota DNR.
