Here are two more opportunities to help Hurricane Katrina victims

Arnold Air Society holds food and clothing drive
At least 3,000 hurricane survivors will be moving into the area, some temporarily and some permanently. The Arnold Air Society, Richard E. Fleming Squadron, is sponsoring a food and clothing drive for the survivors.

Items needed:

  • Bottled water
  • Nonperishable food that can be opened without a can opener and does not need to be cooked
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Toilet paper
  • Hand wipes
  • Diapers and diaper wipes
  • Cleaning supplies (smaller than gallon jugs)

You can donate your items on the St. Paul campus in Koch Commons, the ROTC Detachment in the basement of Foley Theater or in the Commuter Center, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

Chemistry Club to host free barbecue, fund-raiser for hurricane victims Sept. 9
The UST Chemistry Club will host a free barbecue at noon Friday, Sept. 9, near the Frey Science and Engineering Center on the south campus. It's a fund-raiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Everyone's welcome! Come, eat and make a donation – and take aim at your favorite chemistry professor in the dunk tank!
