Kendra Brodin Named Director of Career and Professional Development at School of Law

Kendra Brodin has been named director of career and professional development at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, it was announced by Dean Thomas Mengler.

Brodin has extensive experience working with attorneys and law firms in professional development areas such as work-life balance, career satisfaction, leadership, conflict resolution, and time and stress management through individual coaching, law-firm consulting, and continuing-legal-education courses.

Brodin also has practiced law with a focus on litigation and civil mediation, directed a local nonprofit and is a committee chair for both the Minnesota State Bar Association and Minnesota Women Lawyers.

She is a regular contributor to Lawyerist.com and blogs on professional-development issues.

Brodin holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree with honors from the University of Minnesota. She received coaching instruction from the Institute for Life Coach Training and is a qualified neutral under Minnesota Rule 114.

“Kendra’s experiences make her keenly aware of the skills new lawyers need to successfully transition from student to attorney as well as what employers are looking for from the attorneys they hire,” commented Dave Bateson, assistant dean of students at the School of Law. “She has strong local and national networks that will benefit our students.”
