Leadership Academy offers presentation on U.S. Postal Service rate increases, shape-based pricing

From Campus Mail Services

The U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors has approved a postal rate increase that will go into effect Monday, May 14.

The Postal Service is not only realigning postage rates on May 14 but also the way postage will be calculated. Example: Currently a two-ounce letter or flat costs 63 cents to mail. Starting May 14, the letter will cost 58 cents but the flat (9-by-12) will cost 97 cents.

The changes above are part of a move by the Postal Service to shape-based pricing.

Please join the manager of the Business Service Network from the U.S. Postal Service and Nina Ruud from Campus Mail Services for a short presentation on shape-based mail pricing on Wednesday, May 30. This Leadership Academy presentation will be beneficial for those responsible for designing and mailing articles in your department.

Please use this Leadership Academy link (then click "Training Online") to register for the presentation. Attendance is limited to 40.

The presentation, Postal Changes Information Session, will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, in Room 151, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
