The sixth annual Mental Health and Public Policy Conference – “The Role of Trauma in Mental Health” – will be held Friday, April 27.
The conference will address mental health issues specific to the role of trauma, and also will explore social justice issues in mental health and disability. Conference organizers encourage professionals, and students in special education, social work psychology, public policy, education and law to attend.
The conference is presented by the University of St. Thomas, College of Applied Professional Studies, Public Policy Program and the Minnesota Office of Ombudsman for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
The conference, free and open to the public, will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Opus Hall on the university’s Minneapolis campus. (Professionals seeking continuing education units will be charged $20 at the door.)
