Nominations open today for 2009 Tommie Award

I am delighted to announce the 2009 Tommie Award program! The Tommie Award is presented annually to a University of St. Thomas senior. All students, faculty and staff are invited to nominate seniors whose scholarship, leadership and campus involvement exemplifies the ideals which this award represents. It is a wonderful opportunity to recognize outstanding contributions by students.

The nomination process will begin today, Oct. 20, and the Tommie Award will be presented at St. Thomas Day festivities on March 7, 2009. Nominees must have academic status as a senior, graduate not later than December 2009 and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75.

Please note that all nomination materials will be available beginning today in the Dean of Students Office, Room 101, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, and the Campus Life Office, Room 110, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Nominations of others and self-nominations are welcome.

Completed nomination materials may be returned to either location or sent to Mail #4045 by no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. No late entries will be accepted.

After the initial nomination process, preliminary online voting will take place Dec. 8, 9 and 10. Three finalists will be selected from this preliminary voting. Final voting will take place in February 2009.
