Organizations sponsor two winter coat, clothing drives

Knights of Columbus

The University of St. Thomas Knights of Columbus will conduct a coat drive from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 20, on Foley Plaza.

The Knights will collect coats, hats, mittens, scarves, etc., to donate to the Franciscan Brothers of Peace to distribute to homeless and needy in the community. In addition, for those who cannot drop off items tomorrow, a drop-off bin will be located outside of St. John Vianney Seminary through Nov. 30.

For more information e-mail John Foley.

Client Closet Winter Clothing Drive

St. Thomas’ Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services (IPC) is conducting a drive the next three weeks to collect new and gently used winter coats, hats, mittens, scarves and boots for its Client Closet. These items are needed for individuals of all ages and sizes.

The IPC’s Client Closet is a relatively new project that provides much-needed clothing and household items for its clients. To donate, look for a table on the second floor of the School of Law with a clothing rack and drop box, as well as drop boxes at the Graduate School of Psychology (Room 451, Terrence Murphy Hall, Minneapolis campus) and at the School of Social Work (Room 201, Summit Classroom Building, St. Paul campus) Nov. 19 through Dec. 7.

The Client Closet is an ongoing project; donate items directly to the center after the drive as well. Receipts may be requested for tax purposes.

For more information e-mail Boca Vandenberg or contact Christina Bast, (651) 962-4820.
