Please remember in your prayers Clementina Novoa-Camacho, aunt of St. Thomas junior Veronica Ochoa. Novoa-Camacho, 47, died peacefully in the arms of her husband, Miguel Camacho, and her sister, Lupe Novoa Godinez, on Friday, Feb. 25, after battling ovarian cancer for five years. She died in her home in Zapopan, a northwestern suburb of Guadalajara, located in the state of Jalisco in Mexico.
A nurse by profession, she worked as a volunteer surgical nurse for Operation Smile and in the cosmetic surgery industry. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Templo Cristiano Bíblico Fundamental Bautista in Guadalajara, where her husband is a pastor.
She is survived by a son, Aniel, 6, her mother, Juana Contreras Novoa, and 12 brothers and sisters. Her last words were: "I am not afraid of death. I am running toward it not walking as I am nearer to God than I have ever been on Earth."
"Dear Aunt, your suffering has ended but, our suffering has began. May you always be bathed in white light; we love you."
"Querida tía, su sufrimiento ha terminado, pero, cuenta con nuestro sufrimiento comenzó. Que siempre se llena de luz blanca, te queremos."
