Please remember in your prayers Dr. John Ryan, a member of the University of St. Thomas Board of Trustees from 1975 to 1993, who died at age 81 Saturday, Aug. 6.
Ryan had served as president of Indiana University for 16 years and oversaw the creation of two regional campuses and several new schools.
Ryan received an honorary doctor of laws degree from St. Thomas in 1977, the year he gave the spring commencement address.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 12, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington, Ind. An obituary and guest book can be viewed here.
