Please Remember the Victims of the Newtown, Conn., Tragedy in Your Prayers

The University of St. Thomas mourns for the 27 lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings. All in our community are encouraged to continue to pray for the victims and all impacted by the tragedy in Newtown, Conn.

Resources for emotional support

St. Thomas provides support to students, faculty and staff who want or need to talk about the tragedy.

All full-time, degree-seeking students may contact Counseling and Psychological Services to make an appointment. Visit the website or call (651) 962-6780 for more information.

The Employee Assistance Program is available to all staff, faculty and their families. This service is available 24 hours a day for confidential support, expert information and other resources. Contact ComPsych Guidance Resources at (877) 327-4753. The St. Thomas’ company ID is ZB3042Q.

All members of the university community may seek support from Campus Ministry, where staff will be available throughout finals week. Send an email or call (651) 962-6560 to arrange to speak with someone.

Memorial altar for the 27 victims

The Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas has set up a memorial prayer area in the northwest corner of the chapel. All are welcome to light a candle and say a prayer for the victims, their families and all those affected by the tragedy. The prayer area will be available throughout this week.

Preparedness
