Dr. Aju Fenn, Economics Department, recently attended the annual meeting of the Midwest Economics Association in Chicago. He delivered a paper, "Cigarettes and Addiction: New Evidence in Support of the Rational Addiction Model."

Billie Follensbee, Art History Department, gave a presentation, "Over 200 Men, But Only One Woman? Reanalyzing Gender in Olmec Sculpture," to the Minnesota Maya Society on April 14.

Dr. James Hundley, Modern and Classical Languages Department, attended the Thunderbird-EMU 2000 Conference on Language, Communication and Global Management April 5-8 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The conference, on applications of language and cultural studies to international business, was co-housted by the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and Eastern Michigan University.
