Mike Barrett, Public Safety’s associate director, has been issued a Peace Officer License by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training after accepting a position as a 67-day temporary deputy sheriff with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Royce-Diop, a student in the Masters of Education and Teaching Licensure Program at the University of St. Thomas, has been selected as the 2011 Minnesota Minority Education Partnership Advocacy Fellow. He will provide critical support to the African American Males in Education Advisory (AAMEA) committee in the areas of leadership, networking and development.
