Dr. Stephen Brookfield, School of Education, was the keynote speaker at the International Symposium on the Study of Graduate Adult Education sponsored by the University of Wyoming in Jackson Hole. The address was titled, "Infusing Adult Education Principles Into Graduate Adult Education." He also delivered the keynote address, "Becoming a Critically Reflective Practitioner," at the annual conference of the California Association for Community and Continuing Education in Palm Springs, Calif. Brookfield's chapter, "A Political Analysis of Discussion Groups: Can the Circle Be Unbroken?" appears in a new book, Power in Practice: Adult Education and the Struggle for Knowledge and Power in Society, edited by R.M. Cervero and A.L. Wilson (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2000).

Dr. Thomas Fisch, St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity, presented a paper, "The Historical and Developmental Location of the Eucharistic Prayer in the Apostolic Tradition," to a seminar group on the problems in the early history of the liturgy. The group met at the January meeting of the North American Academy of Liturgy in St. Louis.

The Rev. Jan Michael Joncas, Theology Department and Center for Catholic Studies, is the author of an article, "The Reason for Our Hope: Liturgical Renewal at the Beginning of the 21st Century," in the English journal, The Liturgy Planner (September 2000, pages 4-5).

Dr. Nick Nissley, Organization Learning and Development Department, has been invited to participate in a seminar for organizational storytelling scholars at Imperial College in London next summer. The seminar is being organized by prominent scholars in this field, Yiannis Gabriel of Imperial College, London, and Yehuda Baruch of the University of East Anglia. Nissley also will present a paper, "Tuning In to the Power of Songs in Organizations: Organizational Song as the Discursive Constitution of Idealogy," at the second International Critical Management Studies Conference in Manchester, England.

Gregg Schneider, Small Business Development Center, facilitated a special interest group on entrepreneurship at the national conference of the Association of University Technology Managers March 1-3 in New Orleans.

Dr. John Wendt, Graduate School of Business, was selected by Big Ten Conference coaches as the championship announcer for the 2001 Men's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 22-25 at the University of Minnesota. The University of Minnesota's 797 points were the most team points scored since 1974; Minnesota won its fifth conference championship. Swimmers at the meet set 10 conference records.
