Faculty members are invited to submit proposals by Monday, Oct. 12, for all fall-embedded 2010 and January Term 2011 UMAIE- and UST-sponsored off-campus programs.
All proposals are reviewed and approved by the Academic Review Committee for International Education (ARCIE), a faculty committee. Step-by-step details of the proposal submission process are available from the ARCIE Web site. Faculty submitting new proposals also should take advantage of ARCIE's pre-review comments. Deadlines are listed on the ARCIE Web site.
Faculty must consult with their department chair and dean to gain consent to submit a proposal.
UMAIE-sponsored programs
The Upper Midwest Association for Intercultural Education (UMAIE) is a consortium that shares faculty and students from five colleges and universities to create a January Term or June off-campus curriculum. All logistics are supported by Seminars International Inc.
UST-sponsored programs
Faculty who teach both graduate and undergraduate courses are invited to propose a UST-sponsored program. Programs offered three times or less must complete a full proposal. With appropriate approvals, programs offered more than three times will carry “ongoing” status. Faculty and/or departments are required to submit a letter of intent rather than a full proposal.
E-mail ARCIE to learn your program’s status. For information on making a proposal or directing short-term off-campus programs, contact Sarah Spencer, International Education, (651) 962-6452.
