Public Safety Alert: Schulze Hall Assault

Public Safety would like to inform the University of St. Thomas community of an assault that occurred in Schulze Hall on the Minneapolis campus.

On Tuesday, March 15, at approximately 8:55 a.m., a St. Thomas employee reported he was walking through Schulze Hall, approaching the lounge tables in the second floor hallway, when he was approached by a non-affiliated male suspect. The suspect approached the employee and struck him in the face. The suspect then continued through the skyway to the School of Law. The suspect then ran through the School of Law to the Harmon Place parking ramp. The Minneapolis Police Department was contacted and responded to the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male with thin build, late teens to early 20’s, medium/neck length braided hair, wearing a flat brimmed blue Miami Heat cap with a silver or gold sticker on the brim, a dark-colored hoodie with a zipper, hood down and zipper open, a red/maroon shirt with unknown white lettering, khaki pants, Adidas shoes with black stripes, carrying a green soft sided briefcase with brown leather trim.

MPD reported a similar incident had just occurred in the skyways involving a suspect with the same description

The University of St. Thomas believes that descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. They are included here because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of this incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact MPD at (612) 692-8477.
