At approximately 1:32 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, a Public Safety officer observed a UST student thrown to the ground by three unidentified suspects at the front of the alley on the north side of 2055 Summit Avenue, Sitzmann Hall. As the officer responded, the suspects fled northbound on Cleveland Avenue, then eastbound on Portland Avenue. The officer lost sight of them as they crossed Moore Street.
Upon further investigation, officers determined another UST student had been assaulted and injured by the suspects as he was exiting the Tiffany’s Sports Lounge shuttle bus. Three UST students reported they pursued the suspects to the alley, where they were also assaulted.
The St. Paul Police Department was contacted. The injured student was transported by St. Paul Fire Department medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.
