Q. How do you measure success?

A. Cookie consumption.

During the week of March 15, Evening UST MBA Student Life hosted the spring Happy Half Hour and Elective Trax – sponsored by Robert Half International. Happy Half Hour is a networking event for Opus College of Business graduate students.  Students were invited to spend their class break in the Terrence Murphy Hall atrium.  Over cookies, munchies, bottled water and sodas, students took a break to chat with their colleagues, peruse the elective course information and discuss the upcoming summer and fall registration.

Robert Half representatives were on hand to discuss their services. The specialized staffing divisions of Robert Half International place professionals in the finance and accounting, information technology, legal, administrative, and marketing and creative industries.

Also present, were FirstBook organizers.  FirstBook is a nonprofit organization and its mission includes raising funds to purchase books and engaging with Minneapolis elementary school students. University of St. Thomas staff, faculty and students go to the classrooms and read to the elementary school students and then distribute new books to these students. Look for more on FirstBook in an upcoming blog post.

Maybe you will join us at the next Happy Half Hour for conversation and refreshments.  And those cookies?  Gone!
