I’m so saddened to hear of Mona’s passing. She is the one who inspired me to dream big and follow those dreams as my fifth grade teacher and sixth grade music teacher. She fostered my theatrical efforts with class productions and exposed me to the wonders of travel. Many a time while traveling the world i would see something she had shown me pictures of or told me about from her own travels. I remember her having her husband come and tell how we were going to the moon well before it was common knowledge in 1963. I also remember her coming into the classroom in tears upon hearing of JFKs assassination. I had the happenstance to see her decades later when we ended up on the same plane from Chicago to Indianapolis. We caught up on the years then. She will always be the most wonderful person i have had the honor of knowing.
