Scholarships available for graduate students, staff and faculty to attend 20th Multicultural Forum

The Office of Institutional Diversity is committed to creating a stimulating, supportive, inclusive and accessible learning and working environment, based on mutual respect and trust, in order to assist all staff and students to achieve their full potential.

To this end, we recognize that all faculty, staff and students must be given opportunities to enhance their knowledge and new information about diversity, inclusion and equity in higher education.

Development is one goal of the office. An objective of this goal is to foster a campus community that values diversity through educational, cultural and social programs. The Multicultural Forum on Workplace Diversity is designed to advance diversity in the workplace by enhancing awareness and understanding to bring about an inclusive environment. Specifically, the Multicultural Forum Scholarship for UST faculty, staff and graduate students (formerly known as the Diversity Advantage Scholarship) was created to provide financial assistance to St. Thomas employees and graduate students interested in increasing their cultural competency skills in the areas of diversity and multicultural education. The scholarship is sponsored by Office of Institutional Diversity, and this is the third year we will offer it.

This marks the 20th anniversary for the Multicultural Forum on Workplace Diversity. It will be held Feb 20-21 at the RiverCentre in St. Paul. The Office of Institutional Diversity will provide 10 scholarships in the amount of $125 to support the attendance of St. Thomas faculty, staff and graduate students. Scholarships will be awarded based on criteria listed in the application guidelines.
