Dr. Josie Johnson to Speak on 'Social Justice and the Civil Rights Movement' on Feb. 14

Civil rights pioneer Dr. Josie Johnson will discuss how social justice issues compelled the work of the civil rights movement and its impact on current issues in a talk Monday, Feb. 14, at the St. Thomas School of Law.

Johnson will draw upon her leadership experiences of seeking education and civil rights reforms throughout her lifetime, beginning during her childhood and still today. (Read “A Tribute to Dr. Josie Robinson Johnson” on the Minneapolis Star Tribune website.)

This event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Frey Moot Courtroom, located in the School of Law in St. Thomas’ downtown Minneapolis campus. A reception will follow the presentation. Everyone is welcome.

Johnson’s lecture is sponsored by the faculty of the Ethical Leadership in Social Justice course, the Community Justice Project, the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership, and the Multicultural Affairs Committee.
