Resident students have started to move in to university residence halls. This Saturday, almost 1,100 first-year students will move onto the St. Paul campus. Construction and the elimination of Lot E has posed some new challenges for parking this weekend, so your patience and cooperation with the guidelines below are especially important.
Following is a summary of parking restrictions on the St. Paul campus over the next few days:
Today, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5, there will be no parking in Lots A, B, C, G, and H and Ramps R-2 and R-3 from 10 p.m. until these are reopened after move-in. In most cases this may be as late as 8 p.m. People who usually park in these areas are encouraged to park on the south campus.
Additionally, there will be no parking on northbound Cretin Avenue from Mississippi River Boulevard to Selby Avenue and eastbound Selby from Cretin to Cleveland Avenue from 4 p.m. today, Sept. 4, to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5.
All students, staff and faculty who may be coming to campus on Saturday are encouraged to car pool and park on south campus. Please do not park in the neighborhood where parking is by city permit.
Starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, those who do not have a current resident parking permit for ramps R3 and R2 North are asked to park on south campus, in lots V, X and Y. There will be no parking in the R2 or R3 ramps without a resident permit.
Overnight parking restrictions, no parking from 2 to 5 a.m., are effective beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6. These restrictions apply to all non-resident surface lots and to the Anderson Parking Facility on south campus.
